A running record app based on the concept of competing with other users. Before app development, they went viral with short videos to gather users and successfully boosted at launch. They succeeded in selling the app for $100,000 in just 26 days.
The onboarding is themed around a character named Titan, who asks questions to guide users through the process. Although there's more content beyond this point, the app inserts a screen that says "Let me ask you 6 questions first" to prevent users from dropping off. Once users have progressed, the sunk cost effect makes it difficult for them to abandon the onboarding midway.
By incorporating a thumbprint verification screen, the app draws out user commitment. It adopts a freemium model where some features are accessible without paying. However, to view detailed running data or check rankings across various metrics, a paid subscription is required. When a paywall appears and users try to close it by deciding not to proceed, a discount offer is displayed. While it's not a hard paywall, the final push after displaying the paywall is quite strong.
