An app created by Zack Yadegari when he was just 17 years old that became a monster hit, surpassing 15 million yen in monthly revenue within 6 months. The onboarding is sophisticated with no wasted elements. It's a world-famous app that sells incredibly well. The TikTok marketing strategy is amazing.
The onboarding is about 25 screens with a lean, simple structure. It straightforwardly asks the questions needed for calorie calculation, such as gender, workout frequency, height and weight, goal, and diet style. Along the way, it inserts a comparison graph showing that "Cal AI creates long-term results," and Yes/No screens asking whether to add burned calories back to your goal and roll over extra calories to the next day. After a rating request, notification permission, and referral code entry, a loading screen leads to your calorie and macro targets.
A hard paywall with no close button, showing only the annual plan. Canceling the purchase triggers a "Spin to unlock an exclusive discount" roulette screen, followed by an 80% OFF one-time offer (annual plan with a 3-day free trial).
